Set in 1930s Korea, under Japanese colonial rule, tells the story of two women, Sook-hee (Kim Tae-ri) and Hideko (Kim Ok-bin), whose lives become entangled in a complex web of deception. Sook-hee, a young and poor pickpocket, is hired by a con man, Count Fujiwara (Hiroyuki Tanaka), to pose as a handmaiden to the wealthy and reclusive Hideko. However, things take a dramatic turn when Sook-hee and Hideko form a bond, and the lines between manipulation and genuine affection become blurred.
