The Solarion Project: Alternate Universe

By Dr. Aris Thorne, Lead Archivist of the Solarion Initiative

| Event | Description | |-------|-------------| | | Earth’s sun (Sol) shows signs of premature dimming. Global cooling threatens extinction. | | 2061 | International coalition launches Project Solarion – a stellar ignition device using exotic matter and a contained artificial black hole. | | 2067 | During the final test firing, a quantum feedback loop destabilizes the device. Instead of reigniting Sol, it tears a rift in spacetime. | | 2068 | The Prime Universe stabilizes, but Sol remains dim. Rifts begin opening to AUs. Protagonists discover infinite versions of themselves and the project. | the solarion project: alternate universe

The Solarion Project proposes to harness the energy of a stable wormhole to create a portal between our universe and a parallel one. A wormhole is a theoretical passage through space-time that connects two distant points, allowing for faster-than-light travel between them. If a stable wormhole can be created, it may be possible to travel through it and emerge in a parallel universe. | | 2061 | International coalition launches Project

In this alternate universe, the Earth of the late 21st century was not dying from carbon emissions, but from the cure. The "Atmospheric Shield Initiative," a global geo-engineering project meant to reflect solar radiation and cool the planet, worked too well. It triggered a man-made ice age that froze the equator. | | 2068 | The Prime Universe stabilizes,

In the grand pantheon of science fiction and theoretical physics, few concepts capture the imagination quite like the alternate universe. We have seen them in The Man in the High Castle , Star Trek’s Mirror Universe, and the multiversal chaos of Everything Everywhere All at Once . But every so often, a new intellectual property emerges that claims not just to depict alternate realities, but to scientifically rationalize their very existence.
