There is a productivity technique often called "timeboxing," or perhaps more popularly, the Pomodoro Technique. The idea is simple: set a timer, work on one thing, and stop when the timer goes off. The beauty of the "min work" approach is that it lowers the barrier to entry. It is incredibly easy to talk yourself out of a three-hour session because you’re tired. It is much harder to talk yourself out of 30 minutes.
